Singer-songwriter David McCredie has shared his new single, Letter To You.
Opening with dulcet guitar melodies and the musicians delicate vocal performance, the track picks up a driving beat as McCredie delves deeper into his acoustically-driven sonic realm. The song contemplates the idea of true love and serves as an ode to the future love of his life, categorising past flames and heartbreak as stepping stones towards the woman of his dreams. Introspective and storytelling lyricism unfurls throughout the track, brought to life by McCredie's vulnerable performance and mesmerising melodies.
"This song was taken from my journal and put into a melody that one day, a song we can listen to together, it’s as raw and honest as they come. There have been moments over the last few years that have been lonely and sad, dealing with heartbreak and the sadness of moving on from someone. Then with close friends finding great partners, sometimes I wonder if I’ll find the special someone that will want to love every single part of me, stick with me through the good and the bad and be my partner (anyone else out there get me, or is this just me). So one morning I sat in my van and started to journal & write a love letter to my future person, then I decided to make it into a song. I hope you like it as much as I do."
Letter To You is the third single from McCredie, following the release of Too Good To Be True and Wish You Were With Me. Having cut his teeth busking and performing along the coast line of NSW, the musician is currently working on his debut EP in Byron Bay, enlisting Garrett Kato on production duties.
