LARA VILLANI RELEASES NEW SINGLE 'I LOVE IT'

Melbourne-based artist, Lara Villani has returned with I love it, marking the first taste of new music from the singer this year.

Serving as the first taste of the singers forthcoming debut EP, Whiplash, the song exhibits Villani leaning into her soulful vocals and broadening her sound. Built upon a mid-tempo beat and sparse production, a funk-laden groove undercurrents the songs somewhat repetitive sonics - whilst Villani's vocals take centre stage. Lyrically, I love it finds the singer reflecting on fleeting moments that unexpectedly bring two people together.

“I love it captures that rush of an unexpected spark, when something you never saw coming turns out to be exactly what you needed. It’s about embracing the excitement of the unknown and realising that sometimes the best things happen when you least expect them.”

The tracks mixing and mastering could do with further refinement, at times Villani's vocals are disconnected from the songs overall soundscape - creating a dissonance and disservice to Villani's performance. The release is accompanied by an official visual, which offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the songs promotional photoshoot.
