Gold Coast-based artist David Mac is back with his new single, Stop Dancing.
On his latest offering, the musician fuses together threads of electronic and organic sounds into an overall alt-R&B soundscape. Strummed guitar work rings the track in, before a darker sonic palette takes over led by brooding synth melodies and pulsating production. Mac's vocals float above, entrancing you as he explores leaving behind a party lifestyle and shunning its consuming nature.
"Stop Dancing is about wanting to escape the monotonous routine of going out clubbing till the early hours of the morning- a cycle that consumes many young adults." Mac shares.
With a string of releases under his belt, Mac takes influence from the likes of The 1975, Mansionair, Billie EIlish and Frank Ocean. Forming his own path within the local scene, the musician has performed at venues across the Gold Coast as a solo artist, and as a member of New Age Notion.
