Cosmo’s Midnight have dropped their first solo single of the year, Yesteryear. The Sydney based electronic duo said the song is “reflecting back on the years past, the unchanging feelings of youth, growing up and contemplating the future”.
The accompanying music video, directed by Jordan Kirk, is a meta view into how the clip was created during the global pandemic. With the original concept for the clip being cancelled, the clip starts off on a zoom call with Kirk offering new ideas for the clip. Slowly the ideas come to life throughout the duration of the video, with the team enlisting help from local stylist Millie Sykes, choreographer Amrita Hepi, animators Genevieve Kaiser and Tom Stone and make up artist Celeste Gubb.
