Brisbane indie, electro pop band Confidence Man are back with their high-energy, ludicrous and catchy new track, First Class Bitch.
Describing the song as “Hot. Sexy. Cool.”, the dance floor banger is designed to give listeners a sense of empowerment, riling them up to make them feel on top of the world, no matter their circumstances. It’s time for an indulgent ego trip.
Confidence Man’s fabulous anecdotes would make the ill-fated Real Housewives of Sydney proud. Janet Planet's iconic spoken word performance mentions tea parties with the Queen in her jacuzzi, boat rides with Leonardo DiCaprio and flying from Milan to Japan just for some sushi.
The inspiration for the track came from a pair of socks, with Planet saying: “I'd been thinking about this for a while now... It all started in London, when I saw a pair of socks with the words “first class bitch” embroidered on them, hanging in a shop front window. I suddenly realised, I too was a first class bitch. I rushed back to the penthouse and penned this hit. Ever wondered what you hear when you die? This is it.”
The fabulous music video sees Planet and Sugar Bones strutting their stuff, dressed head to toe in designer clothes. There’s luxury cars, amazing dance moves that would make Elaine Benes stop and stare, and even a poodle.
With their tour rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Confidence Man are scheduled to hit the road this November.
