19-year old singer-songwriter Budjerah has announced his signing with Mushroom Music Publishing. The partnership brings together the publishing group and the singers management company, Lemon Tree Music.
“From the first time we heard Budjerah’s voice, we knew we had to work with him. We have been following his progression over the last couple of years and we are in love with his song writing and artistry. Michael Gudinski was a huge fan of his storytelling and incredible vocal talent. We could not be happier to be working with Budjerah and his team. This one is for you MG!” says Linda Bosidis, Managing Director of Mushroom Music
Of the signing, Budjerah adds: “I’m really happy about signing with Mushroom! I think it’s the next step for me in my songwriting and can’t wait to see where it goes.”
Raised in a home full of instruments and playing in family bands, making music was inevitable for the young singer-songwriter. "I grew up singing Sam Cooke and listening to gospel singers like The Clark Sisters. My dad taught me how to sing and that's the kind of music that has been around since I was little," he says.
His debut EP, Budjerah, sees the musician continue his collaborative efforts with ARIA and J Award-winning artist Matt Corby, who produced the body of work. The pair worked tirelessly on the EP, crafting the sound that would introduce the world to Budjerah’s musical abilities. Produced and co-written by Corby, Budjerah - Live At Rainbow Valley was recorded at Corby’s Rainbow Valley studio in the Northern Rivers in NSW.
Budjerah is out now!
