Grammy-nominated, Mercury Prize and BRIT Award-winning artist Arlo Parks has shared her new single, Softly. The track serves as the first taste of new music since the singers acclaimed 2021 debut album, Collapsed In Sunbeams, and arrives alongside an official visual directed by Zhang and Knight.
Bringing her signature beguiling vocals to the track, Softly offers up a more pop-based sonic exploration from the singer. Laced with vivid lyricism that documents the emotions felt as a relationship meets its demise, the track explores still holding onto those emotions of love as you prepare to say goodbye.
Speaking of the track, Parks shares: "Softly is a song about yearning, about how fragile you feel in the dying days of a relationship when you’re still desperately in love. The song is about how it feels to brace yourself before the blow of a break up and reminisce about the days where it all felt luminous."
Arlo is set to visit Australia for the first time this year, performing across the east coast on her The Collapsed In Sunbeams Tour. Kicking off Melbourne on August 9, the tour will continue onto Brisbane on August 11, before wrapping up in Sydney on August 13.
