LA artist ALONZO is starting 2021 off with a stellar new release titled Respect. A pop-R&B track released today in celebration of Black History Month, ALONZO has curated a song that could very well be likened to an anthem, with smooth strong vocals that make a statement on the affirmation of black worth and respect.
Listening to the track you get a sense of a Prince feel that has been brought forward to 2021, with an instrumental element reminiscent of Bruno Mars. A voice of 2021, commanding respect and change. Alonzo states, “I wanted to release this song to kick off Black History Month as an affirmation. A new anthem that black people can sing. A song that does not beg but affirms our worth and the respect we deserve” The singer shares of the release.
Featuring as a semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent Alonzo is the first singer to ever be approved by The Prince Estate to sing on the 4 U Prince Tour. Respect will feature on ALONZO’s upcoming album ENOUGH.
Respect is out now! Listen to the song below.
