The wait is finally over, global superstar Adele is back! The singer has unveiled her new single, Easy On Me, the first taste of new music in six years. The song is set to appear on the singers fourth studio album, 30, due out next month.

Conceptually the song navigates the breakdown of a relationship, and the decision to walk away from your partner when it seems like the shared love is no longer salvageable. The release arrives alongside an official visual, teaming up once again with Cannes Grand Prix winning director Xavier Dolan (Mommy; It’s Only The End The World) and filmed in Quebec. We find the singer leaving a desolate home, the very same house where the paid filmed the video for Adele’s 2015 smash single Hello, before answering a call and telling a friend the house is all packed up and she's hitting the road. As the singer drives off from the place she once called home, she loads a B-side cassette of the track into the car stereo, as she drives down an isolated road.

“I was honestly hoping for this to happen,” Dolan says of working with Adele. “For me, there’s nothing stronger than artists reconnecting after years apart. I’ve changed. Adele’s changed. And this is an opportunity to celebrate how we’ve both evolved, and how we’ve also both remained faithful to our dearest themes. It’s all the same, but different.”

Earlier this week, the singer announced the release of her fourth studio album, 30, following mysterious 30 insignia popping up worldwide. The singer also took to Instagram Live to preview the new song and answer fans questions. Arriving with twelve new songs, 30 sees the superstar team up once again with Greg Kurstin, Max Martin, Shellback and Tobias Jesso Jr as well as new collaborators Inflo and Ludwig Göransson.

Speaking of the new record, Adele shared to social media: "I'm finally ready to put this album out. It was my ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life. When I was writing it, it was my friend who came over with a bottle of wine and a takeaway to cheer me up. My wise friend who always gives the best advice. Not to forget the one who's wild and says "It's you Saturn return babes fuck it, you only live once". The friend who'd stay up all night and just hold my hand while I'd sob relentlessly not knowing why. The get up and go friend who would pick me up and take me somewhere I said I didn't want to go but just wanted to get me out the house for some vitamin D. That friend who snuck in and left a magazine with a face mask and some bath salts to make me feel loved while inadvertently reminding me not only what month it actually way but that I should probably exercise some self-care!"

She continued, "And then that friend who no matter what, checked in on me even though I'd stopped checking in with them because I'd become so consumed by my own grief. I've painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this albumm narrates it. Home is where the heart is x."

Easy On Me is out now! Watch the visual below. 30 is out November 19.
