Hong Kong-born/Sydney-based artist Yeloboi Tommy has dropped his new single, HEARTBREAK, arriving alongside an official visual directed, shot and edited by Navsrevenge.
The explosive track continues the musicians previous conceptual exploration of deception and distrust, this time following a break up where your ex-partner wants you back. Built upon hip-hop sonics and captivating melodies, Yeloboi Tommy delivers a spitfire performance, continuing to earn his place as one of the countries most exciting emerging multifaceted artists.
"Kelvin (99hurts) & I made Heartbreak a few months back, I remember as soon as Kelvin played me that beat one day, it felt like an anthem so I immediately wanted to go to the studio to record on it. I got off whatever I had to get off my chest at that time on the beat, and the song was done in one session!" the musician shares.
Navsrevenge adds of the visual, “Seeing as HEARTBREAK is a high-energy track we decided to make the visuals very contrasty, vibrant and bright, keeping the editing style upbeat and exciting. After bouncing back on ideas with each other we came up with the locations for the scenes. We didn’t want this video to have a storyline but to have it more concept-based with the scenes. Scenes like the retro room and the scene with the house in the background with the orange lights are my personal favourites as they compliment the energy of the song the best
With his releases, the musician aims to offer conversational and vulnerable moments that challenges the archetype of a hip-hop artist, particularly within the Asian-Australian community. Yeloboi Tommy is set to appear at Bodega Collective's Pass The Mic 5 this Saturday, with tickets on sale now.
