Wold Alice have unveiled a new taste of their highly-anticipated third album, Blue Weekend. The new single Smile documents lead singer Ellie Rowsell’s desire to push back against society's perceptions of who she should be and their attempts to define her.
“This is one of the songs we wrote thinking that we would play it live." Rowsell states "I miss that feeling of singing on stage. It’s like screaming into a pillow or something — you can get away with being more nasty. There’s a whole other part of me missing.”
The track arrives with an official visual, directed by Jordan Hemmingway (Gucci, Raf Simons, Comme Des Garçons). Set within a grimy punk bar, the saturated visual depicts the band performing the track, with a number of riotous and captivating extras whilring through the clip.
Blue Weekend is out June 11. Watch the visual for Smile below.
