American alt-rock trio Wallows have got you covered with their new single Especially You, which arrives alongside the announcement of their sophomore album, Tell Me That It’s Over, due out next month.
Produced by the multi-GRAMMY Award winning producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Haim, Adele), Tell Me That It’s Over is set to continue the groundwork of the bands debut Nothing Happens, exploring genre-bending soundscapes that weave together threads lo-fi post-punk and indie-folk to early-90s dance-pop psychedelia. On their latest offering, Especially You, the trio explore the anxiety that can arise in the early stages of a relationship and over analysing every detail looking for more clarity.
Speaking of the track, vocalist Dylan Minnette shares: “It’s about when you’re in the early stages of a relationship and you get so worried that the other person’s mind will change at the flip of a switch. It’s about stressing over the smallest things for no reason, but it’s definitely self-aware about the fact that I’m doing this all to myself.”
Wallows also have a special treat for Aussie fans, today announcing their debut Australian tour. Kicking off in Melbourne on November 8, the run of shows will continue on to Sydney on November 10, before wrapping up in Brisbane on November 11. Pre-sales for the tour begins on Tuesday, February 8th at 10am local time, with fans who pre-order the new album in Australia by Monday, February 7th at 12pm local time getting first access.
