New Zealand-based artist Wallace recently shared her new single, Arcade Queen. To celebrate the release, the singer has shared with MILKY five things that bring back the feeling of young love.

“11-year-old me at Time Zone in Wellington, drinking vanilla Coke, playing dance revolution and checking out boys in their head-to-toe Planet 8 ensembles. I tried to go back in time and access the intensity of the feelings your first crush gives you. I wanted it to feel playful, sweet and have a naive sense of infatuation about it,” Wallace shares. “I think young love is so important, all-consuming and happens at such a confusing time in a person’s life. Lots of adults find it amusing or are patronising about it and I think we could all do with a bit more of it.”

To celebrate the release, Wallace will take to the stage at Sydney's The Vanguard on June 16, followed by a performance at The Workers Club in Melbourne on June 17. The singer is also set to release her debut album, AND OTHER COLOURS, on August 10.

ONE

Waiting forever to boot up The Sims 1 so you can create a likeness of your crush and an accurate floor plan of their family home.

TWO

Spraying then walking through a Cool Charm (Watermelon) fragrance cloud before school, hoping that some boy doesn’t catch you with the Lynx Africa at lunchtime.

THREE

Getting dressed up to impress boys at the school disco, but they're awkward AF and you just end up playing tag until the Grease Megamix comes on.

FOUR

Logging in and out of MSN (with your sentence long screen name) so your crush will notice you.

FIVE

Choreographing a chair dance to Genie in a Bottle with your friends for Friday assembly only to be thwarted by a concerned teacher at the final hour.
