Circa Waves frontman Kieran Shudall has revealed another taste of his solo artistic project, VEN. hey bro places melancholic intimacy atop a cinematic soundscape, opening with Shudall’s distinctive soothing and mesmerising vocals, captivating your attention.
Conceptually, the song explores the closeness and importance of friendships, and how those relationships become a safe haven during difficult times. The emotion stirring track combines mundane moments of everyday life with heavy emotions that creates conversational and relatable lyricism. “Its headphone music for introverts,” Shudall shares. “An atmospheric world to lose yourself in. A kind of brutally honest look into my thoughts.”
The release is accompanied by a lo-fi visual, built upon cut-in shots from nostalgic film scenes with intimate to-camera moments from Shudall. hey bro follows the musicians previous single, H8 Lovin, and is only the first taste of what's in store from the artist for 2021.
