Circa Waves frontman Kieran Shudall has revealed his debut self-titled EP under his solo artistic project, VEN, is set to drop this May! The announcement is accompanied by the release of his new single and official video for Sorry.
Featuring the previously released singles H8 Lovin and hey bro, the EP will arrive with two new unheard tracks Burning Away and Girl In Blue. Across the five song collection, Shudall meanders between melancholic intimacy and cinematic soundscapes, with spartan strings and thrashing synths laced throughout. Conceptually, the release navigates themes of friendship, loneliness loneliness and the struggle of committing to honest emotions.
“The VEN EP is a collection of feelings. 5 tracks to become enveloped in. I hope all the hours I’ve put in can give you 15 minutes of escapism” explains Shuddall. “Its headphone music for introverts.”
The guitar-led Sorry opens with ethereal vocal acrobatics from Shudall, before synthesised sounds and his signature captivating vocals take over. Speaking of the track, Shudall shares: “Sorry is a cinematic experience. Treating an acoustic guitar like a synth. It's a folk space hip hop drum ballad!” The tracks kaleidoscopic and trippy visual is a feast for your eyes!
VEN is out May 28. Watch the visual for Sorry below.
