Multi-platinum singer-songwriter and overall Aussie legend, Vance Joy has shared his moving new single, Don’t Fade, The track is the latest taste of the musicians forthcoming third studio album, following the 2× Platinum Missing Piece, which picked up Best Video at the 2021 ARIA Awards.

A more down-tempo cut from the musician, the song introduces us to a new sonic palette from Vance Joy, leaning into darker tones and textural production. Produced by hitmaking duo Take a Day Trip (Lil Nas X, Kid Cudi, Juice Wrld, James Blake), Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth (Solange), and long time collaborators Dave Bassett & Edwin White (Lay It On Me, Saturday Sun), the musician brings his signature lyrical mastery to the track, heralded by Joy's captivating vocal performance floating above a glistening guitar melody and driving beats.

“I wrote Don’t Fade with my friend and frequent songwriting partner Dave Bassett toward the end of 2019,” the musician shares. “It came as a surprise and felt like a special discovery. I like writing about that feeling of timelessness you get when you’re with someone you love. When we came to produce the song, I had the great fortune to work with Take a Daytrip, Edwin White and David Longstreth (of Dirty Projectors). Writing this song was the starting point for my new album. I knew I was on a path somewhere once this song came along.”

Directed by Agueda Sfer and Macari De Golferichs Moliné, the songs emotional visual follows a young woman, as she and her lover part ways. As she rides her bike through a forest, we witness the woman experiencing a range of emotions

Kicking off in Darwin on September 17, Joy will return to Australian stages on his The Long Way Home Tour. The mammoth run of shows will continue on to Cairns, Brisbane, Coolangatta, Canberra, Newcastle, Lardner, Hobart, Adelaide and Bussleton before the musician takes to the Sydney Opera House Forecourt for two performances.
