American rockers Vampire Weekend are back with their first taste of new music in five years! The trio have unveiled two new tracks, Capricorn and Gen-X Cops, alongside the announcement of their fifth studio album, Only God Was Above Us
The softer of the two offerings, Capricorn feels like a fever dream from The Beatles as it builds in to a psych-rock leaning, face melting mid-section. The song offers frontman Ezra Koenig's rumination on ageing and making your way through life. On the flip side, Gen-X Cops is full of distorted woozy sonics whilst exploring generational politics.
The band have also announced a North American tour, kicking off on April 27 at New Orleans’ Jazz Fest and wrapping up at Austin’s Moody Center on October 17. The trio will host an already sold-out album launch show at Moody Amphitheater on April 8.
Only God Was Above Us is out April 5th.
