Tyne-James Organ is hitting the road! The singer-songwriter will take to stages across the country hot off the release of his debut album, Necessary Evil. The announcement comes alongside a visual for the musicians latest single, Sunday Suit.
Kicking off in Adelaide on June 4, the tour will continue on to Perth, Wollongong, Sydney, Byron Bay, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Hobart and Canberra. Having shared stages with The Lumineers, Jake Bugg, Middle Kids, and Lime Cordiale to name a few, Organ's own headline tours have been known to sell out in minutes. Be sure to get in quick when tickets go on sale next week!
Directed by Simon Morehead, the visual was and filmed at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul and depicts the musician busting out his grooviest moves in his Sunday suit, capturing the songs message of dancing your troubles. “This video was always going to feature a lot of dancing. The song itself is all about letting go and healing through dance, so when it came to deciding where to take things visually I knew there was only one option." Organ shares. "On a fair Sydney morning, I joined choreographer Cassandra Merwood and Simon Morehead on his rooftop, blasted the track and we started dancing and the concept was born. We filmed the video the day Sunday Suit was released and the album was announced. At 8:00am… I am not a morning person so the struggle was real, haha. But we got right into it. I was so lucky to have my band and best mates feature in this one too. I’ve loved all the clips I’ve made with Simon and Jack to date but this one feels very special,”
Recorded with longtime creative partner Chris Collins (Middle Kids, Skegss) at his NSW Hinterland studio, Necessary Evil came to life throughout 2020, with Organ immersing himself within the rural surroundings of the studio. The setting allowed the musician to completely lose himself within his compositions, focusing in on what he wanted to convey on his debut. The record is set to be a rollercoaster of emotions, moving between triumphant and jubilant tracks, to introspective and tender moments on the next. Navigating and commenting on themes of grief and pain, power and passion, Organ brings his signature open and raw lyricism atop bare bones acoustics to the collection of songs, juxtaposed by undeniable swagger with massive guitar riffs and a swing for the fences approach that only comes from letting it all go and letting the music speak for itself.
Known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, the talented musician crafts his songs from personal experiences. Releasing his debut EP Perseverance in 2019, the collection of songs exhibited raw honesty whilst thematically exploring love, loss, grief and resilience. 2020 saw Organ string of sold-out headline performances in NSW over summer, building his rapidly growing fanbase. In the past, the musician has played some of Australia’s biggest festivals including Splendour in the Grass, Falls, Party in the Paddock, Yours and Owls and Fairgrounds.
