Australian pop sensation Troye Sivan has shared the second of two songs original songs he recorded for his new feature film THREE MONTHS, with the release of Wait. Following up his collaboration with DIY, bedroom pop artist Jay Som on Trouble, the musician has enlisted fellow Australian artist Gordi on his latest offering.

Marking their third collaboration, the two musicians expand on Sivan's character in the film, Caleb, a South Florida teen with a passion for photography who becomes exposed to HIV and finds love as he awaits his results. Built upon synth-based sonics, the pairs intimate and vulnerable vocals are delicately woven together, creating moving moments brought to life by introspective lyricism.

“I love collaborating with Troye. He has this unique way of speaking in images that we then try and translate into melody and lyrics. Our instincts with songwriting really seem to align and after our work on ‘Postcard’, I was excited to have another chance to work together. He told me all about ‘3 Months’ and said he wanted to write an original song for it. As a proud member of the queer community, I felt a deep connection to the film. We wanted to write a song that was worthy of the story.” Gordi shares of their collaboration.

Working with Three Months film producers & Academy Award nominees Daniel Dubiecki and Lara Alameddine of The Allegiance Theatre (Juno, Up in the Air) on the songs visual, the clip brings together unseen scenes from THREE MONTHS, offering intimate moments.

Starring in alongside Academy Award® winner Ellen Burstyn, Sivan says of his latest film role, THREE MONTHS is a movie we made against all odds throughout a global pandemic. It stars Ellen Burstyn, Lou Gossett Jr., Viveik Kalra, Brianne Tju and me. It’s from the producers of Juno and Up In The Air – two of my favorite movies – and is directed and written by my friend and fellow Nice Jewish Boy, Jared Frieder.”

With two studio albums under his belt, Blue Neighbourhood and Bloom, Sivan has rapidly secured his place as one of Australia's most renowned acts, having taken home two ARIA Awards, an APRA award, a Billboard Music Awards trophy, three MTV Europe Music awards and two GLAAD Media wins. In 2020, Sivan unleashed his lockdown project, In A Dream, which featured the singes Take Yourself Home and Easy, and marked a new era for the musician, followed up by a string of singles throughout 2021.
