ARIA and BET nominated rapper and artist Tkay Maidza has delivered her new single, Silent Assassin, teaming up with Grammy-winning producer Flume.
The confident cut finds the empowered artist reminding those who doubt her abilities just why she's at the top of her game. Textural and dynamic production unfurls below, bringing an industrial sonic palette to the track, whilst Maidza's hypnotic flow and cadence simmers above. Directed by Milo Lee, the release arrives alongside an official visual which finds the rapper riding through the desert.
“I like to move in silence, but this song is a reminder that people shouldn’t count me out or underestimate my abilities; they should be afraid when I'm quiet as I come back more evolved,” Maidza shares. “I’ve always wanted to work with Flume and was immediately ecstatic when he played the instrumental for this; I wanted to channel Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliot.”
Maidza will support GRAMMY Award winner Lizzo on her national Australian tour this month. Kicking off in Perth on July 14, the run of shows will continue on to Melbourne and Sydney.
