Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood and Sons Of Kemet’s Tom Skinner have joined forces on a new musical project, The Smile. The new group have shared their debut single, You Will Never Work In Television Again, which the band debuted at a secret show at last year’s Glastonbury event, Live At Worthy Farm.
Produced by Nigel Godrich, a longtime Radiohead collaborator, the track is the first taste of music from the band and is set to appear on their forthcoming debut album, as teased by the group. Built upon transfixing guitar work and driving percussion, Yorke’s captivating vocals stomp above and leaves us wanting more. The release arrives alongside an official visual, directed by Duncan Loudon.
The Smile will return to the stage for three live performances at Magazine London on Saturday 29 January 29 & Sunday 30 January GMT (Sunday 30 January AEDT). The in-the-round performance will be available to stream live alongside a cinematic film, captured by award-winning director, Paul Dugdale (The Rolling Stones, Adele, Paul McCartney) and produced by Driift.
