THERE'S NOT A SINGLE THING WE DON'T LIKE ABOUT LIME CORDIALE AND IDRIS ELBA'S NEW TRACK

Their mini-album, Cordi Elba, is set to drop next January!

ARIA Award winners Lime Cordiale and British actor, writer, producer, rapper and singer-songwriter Idris Elba have dropped the second taste of their collaborative project Cordi Elba with What's Not To Like.

Taking the lead on the track, Elba's commanding vocals stomp above riotous riffs and propelling percussion that enters a whole new fuzzy realm for the project. Conceptually, the song is an anthem to stay true to your own course and shake off the opinions of others.

“I had this song title written down in my notes for a lyric. It was a concept we’d been toying with for a while but Idris related to it and wrote these verses in the room with us. He told us about an industry party the night before, about people looking over his shoulder searching for someone more important to talk to until they worked out they WERE talking to someone important, “says Oli of the song.

“That’s where the song started but we’re really just taking the piss out of ourselves, something that we all loved doing in these studio sessions. It’s that Aussie/English connection,” adds Louis. “It’s a song about finding who you really are and not chasing who you think people want you to be. It is a driver's seat singer classic,“ Elba shares.

Lime Cordiale linked up with Elba whilst the actor was in town filming Marvel's latest blockbuster, Thor: Love and Thunder, enlisting him on a new version of Unnecessary Things. From there, a creative collaboration flourished and Cordi Elba came to be. “I wanted to collaborate,” says Elba. “We agreed about the vibe and the song was there. They were really open to ideas; it was an opportunity for me to write songs I normally wouldn’t write. Ultimately, this is a step into a new universe musically for me.”

The duo are set to return to the stage next weekend, performing at Party in The Apocalypse in Tasmania before appearing at Wildlands in Brisbane and Le Currents Festival in New Zealand later next month. To wrap up 2021, Lime Cordiale will perform at Beyond The City in Melbourne. Kicking off in Perth on April 7, the duos rescheduled national tour will visit Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, following on from the duos extensive tour of the UK and Europe.

Cordi Elba is out January 14. Listen to What's Not To Like below!
