Australian band The Rubens have proudly announced the commencement of two new grants, Study Break and the 0202 Music Grants. Both initiatives are designed for year 12 students who plan to pursue a career within the music industry, offering support to the next generation of Australia’s hitmakers.

Study Break offers students a one hour, online professional development session with the the band and their team. The session will take those who are involved a behind the scenes look into the industry, with the band sharing stories of their career, and insight into their writing, recording and touring lives. They’ll also be sharing some marketing tips and little facts and information about the industry. The session will take place on Tuesday 27th October, 5pm-6pm AEDT. With only 500 places available, those interested can apply here.

0202 Music Grants is in partnership with the bands record label Ivy League Records & Mushroom Group. The grant will award ten Year 12 students who are striving who demonstrate a passion for music and a desire to further their studies or business ideas with $500 to go towards achieving this. “Clearly 2020 has been an incredibly tough time for so many and in particular Year 12 students. We hope these grants and access to The Rubens stories creates some optimism and inspiration to some students who are passionate about music and our industry”. said Chris Maund, C.O.O. of Mushroom Labels and Mushroom Music Publishing. The Rubens new record, 0202, is due out 12 February 2021. The album will feature the recent singles Live In Life, Heavy Weather and Time Of My Life. The band will also be embarking on a massive nationwide tour in support of the album. Check out all the details below!
