Alt-pop duo The Driver Era have hit Australian shores for their east coast tour, with a new album in tow! We caught up with the duo, Rocky and Ross Lynch, to chat about Summer Mixtape, their live show, carving out a space for THE DRIVER ERA and so much more!
Creating the perfect soundtrack for a sizzling summer, the duos third album sees the Lynch brothers take on full creative control; writing, producing and mixing the collection of songs entirely themselves. Bubbling bass line rip beneath entrancing production, with Ross Lynch's captivating vocals flowing throughout. Warm beats and catchy hooks are effortlessly woven together, as the brothers document their own lives throughout the album.
Having kicked off at The Triffid in Brisbane last week, the duo have taken to the stage in Sydney and Melbourne for the Australian tour, with the run of shows wrapping up tonight with a second performance at 170 Russell. Having sold-out each show of their Australian dates, The Driver Era will be taking their Girlfriend tour to the UK, Europe and San Diego.
Rocky and Ross began working on music under the guise of The Driver Era whilst on tour in 2018 with their former group, R5. Leaning into new sonic territory driven by a compulsion to experiment with new sounds, the duo drew on influences from luminary acts including INXS, Bruce Springsteen and Prince, and their love of love of hip-hop production. With three albums under their belt and a vastly sold-out world tour, it's just the beginning of The Driver Era's worldwide take over.
Summer Mixtape is out now!
