Global superstar, and the Queen of our hearts, Taylor Swift has announced her highly-anticipated tenth studio album is set to drop on October 21! Dubbed Midnights, the singer announced the album earlier today at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.

Taking to social media at midnight eastern following the award ceremony, the acclaimed musician shared the albums title and cover, also revealing the record will arrive with 13 brand new tracks inspired by late night thoughts, terrors and dreams, with the album written in the "middle of the night", a phrase famous in Swiftie lore. Whilst there's no news on when we can expect the first taste of the album, we'll be sitting here blasting Swift's first nine albums (Taylor's Versions where applicable of course) in preparation.

"We lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren't - right this minute - about to make some fateful life-altering mistake." Swift shared.

"This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching - hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve... we’ll meet ourselves."

She concluded, "Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight." Fans can pre-order exclusive coloured vinyl, cassettes and CD's via Swift's website.

No stranger to bringing home an award or two, Swift's short film for All Too Well, which stars Stranger Things' Sadie Sink and Teen Wolf's Dylan O' Brien, took out three of its nominations at the VMA's, including Video Of The Year, Best Longform Video and Best Direction. The visual marks the global superstars second directorial effort, following The Man. During her acceptance speech for Video Of The Year, the singer noted, “For the first time in VMA history four directors nominated in the Video of the Year category are women,” sharing her honour to be nominated alongside her fellow nominees.
