Australian/Japanese producer Taka Perry has delivered a superb remix of PNAU's latest track with 19-year old singer-songwriter Budjerah, Stranger Love.
Flipping the script and recontextualising the track within a downtempo, hip-hop sonic realm, the remix highlights Budjerah's smooth vocals. The conceptual nature of the track takes its inspiration from the French novella The Little Prince.
Speaking of the remix, Perry shares: “When I was asked to remix PNAU’s latest single, naturally I jumped at the opportunity. When I had a chance to hear Budjerah’s solo vocal (who in my opinion has one of the most original and technically strong voices in the country), I could hear this almost hopeful melancholic element, so I wanted to hone in on that as much as possible. I just love it when remixes take a track and transport it to a completely different emotional world, hopefully I’ve achieved that with this one”.
Stranger Love (Taka Perry Remix) is out now! Listen to the track below.
