Future Classic partner with nature company Unyoked and set Brisbane-based singer, songwriter and producer SYCCO the task to re-work Flume’s debut single Sleepless. Available exclusively on Bandcamp, the track will also be released on a limited edition vinyl pressing.

Taking some time to go off-grid, Sycco immersed herself within Australia's natural landscape when working on the track, visiting places across QLD and NSW. Keeping the songs iconic melody, the singer brings her own lyrical twist to the song, reveling in her time away from the stresses of everyday life and escaping the 9 to 5. Implementing field recordings from her time spent in nature within a lush synth-based soundscape, the songs reinvention is a invigorating refresher, built upon an organic drumbeat.

“Escaping out into nature is so special because it reminded me that I’m just a little speck in the universe, just doing my own thing. I think everyone should experience it. You’re so disconnected and you realise how simple things could be and how happy you are just doing simple things.” Sycco shares of the release.

The release marks a collaboration between the Australian nature company and the independent label to help artists unlock their creative potential that comes with getting back in touch with the natural world. Creative Lead of Unyoked Jonno Seidler says of the project, “It’s one thing to talk about the science behind habitual nature immersion but another entirely to see it come to life. Working with Sash on this has been such a joy; not only is she unbelievably talented, but her experience and creative process really encapsulates why we do what we do. Also, the track is a stone cold banger.”
