Australian trio Snowfish have released their emotive new single, Maybe. The track serves as the latest taste from the bands forthcoming debut album, The Monster Upstairs, due out later this year.
Continuing their exploration of punk-infused alt-rock sonics, the slow-burning offering a more intimate moment from the trio. Frontman Jordan Rodrigues' vulnerable performance recall on early noughties punk vocals, set atop glistening guitar melodies and down-tempo percussion. The track explores the want to experience true love, and longing for shared experiences with someone special.
“The narrator of Maybe fantasises about being in love and putting another before
themselves, even though there is no one there. We wanted to write a nice love song while still having a dark undertone to the tune, imperfection lurking beneath the surface.” the band share of the track.
Made up of brothers Jordan, Solomon, and Kalan Rodrigues, Snowfish made their debut in 2020 with Ghost, followed up by a string of singles released last year. Inspired by the likes of Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles, the trio strive to create accessible rock music, weaving together engaging sonic threads.
Maybe is out now!
