2022 is set to be a big year for Short Stack fans! Not only will the iconic Aussie trio finally make their long awaited return to the stage, the band have today announced the release of their fifth studio album Maybe There's No Heaven.

To celebrate the announcement, the band have unveiled their brand new single, Like I Used To. Continuing their more recent exploration of heavier rock sonics, with frontman Shaun Diviney's commanding vocals stomping above explosive drum work from Bradie Webb. The track explores returning to a partner although your feelings towards them have changed, and arrives alongside an official visual directed by Elder.

Speaking of the track, Diviney shares: "We wrote it as a sad party anthem - almost like an anthem for breakups. We approached the song very differently to any other song we’ve ever worked on. It took several days to get it “right” because we knew there was something special there, we just needed to find the right way to bring it to life.”

Due out next February, Maybe There's No Heaven will arrive with ten new tracks, including the previously released singles Burn You Down and Live4. Influenced by the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, The Getaway Plan, Blink-182 and The Used, the band enlisted Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly) to help bring the album to life after recording demos in Webb's studio. As much as we were writing the album that we 100% wanted to write, we were also writing for those fans that have been there for us… they’re the only reason that we get to do this,” says Diviney. “We didn’t think we’d have the opportunity to do this again and we are just super grateful that we can.”

Having announced their reformation in early 2020, the band were set to embark on their national comeback tour, with multiple dates selling out in a matter of hours. With the shows being rescheduled a number of times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the band continued working away on new music, signing to UNFD.

Kicking off in Newcastle on June 16, the run of shows will continue on to Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, before wrapping up in Perth on July 23. Along for the ride is special guests Between You and Me, with new tickets on sale now!
