Australian singer, songwriter and producer Running Touch has unveiled the third instalment of his video series, the Post Modern Collective Sessions. The musician has enlisted the help of Set Mo, Graace and Motez to recontextualise his latest single Ceilings into a piano-led realm.
Running Touch introduced his new video series, earlier this year, with the first instalment placing focus on percussion, before the second instalment shifted to bass and electric guitar. Enlisting the likes of Hayden James, Vera Blue and international Bass-queen Blu DeTiger, the series establishes a new space for the musician to continue his live endeavours, whilst also creating the opportunity for Running Touch to showcase his multi-instrumentalist skill set.
Of the latest instalment, the musician shares: “Getting to collaborate and recreate my songs in the PMC sessions has become a highlight for me. Every release feels so much more connected and alive. Bringing together friends and inspirations into the project has given everything a new life. Especially now not being able to travel, it gives me some sense of a bigger picture.”
Weaving together threads of punk, indie and pop into a dance-laden soundscape, the original cut of Ceilings brings the musicians knack for storytelling lyricism, the musician defines the track as a “rumination on love”, presenting ideas and questions within the verses, that are juxtaposed with defining statements throughout the chorus.
Ceilings is out now! Listen to the song below.
