Australian singer, songwriter and producer Running Touch is diving into 2021 headfirst with the release of his new single Juno as well as his grand return to the stage, which includes a headline show in Melbourne next month.
The infectious Juno fuses together elements rock, electronica and pop to create a genre defying soundscape that glistens beneath storytelling lyricism. Conceptually, the track is a moment of escapism and lyrically is inspired by thriller novels and film, with pop-culture references. The musician brings his distinct flair of production and acute lyricism to the track.
“This song is my kind of escapism,” Running Touch says of the single. “I didn’t want to focus and write about what I was going through last year, so I wrote this story instead.” And what a story it is, bringing together “violence, crime and love” as he follows the fictional story of Sandro, a “son of crime and a young prodigal painter fleeing his city and falling in love with a budding thief” named Juno. “Sandro’s world revolves around getting as close to Juno as he can, while trying to keep his past at bay,”
After the COVID-19 pandemic changed the trajectory of live music, Running Touch will make his grand return to the stage after long eleven months. The musician will kick off a string of festival appearances later this month, beginning with the sold-out Summer Sound Festival with Hayden James & Cosmos Midnight in Adelaide, before hitting Perth, Melbourne and the Gold Coast For The Love Festival and Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong. He’ll take to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl stage for a headline performance, bringing along special guests Northeast Party House (DJ SET), Kult Kyss & Adult Art Club.
