Melbourne alt-rockers Rumours have shared their new single Blood Eagle, alongside an official visual created by Crow River Visuals.
The song explores the personal effects of addiction and how substance abuse can alter your persona. Introspective lyricism is brought to life by frontman Jackson Bentley's lively performance, simmering atop a heavier, goth-infused sonic exploration. Riotous guitar lines and driving percussion run rampant throughout the dynamic tracks, introducing electro-inspired breaks in the songs pre-chorus.
"My addiction is something I’ve never really written in depth about." Bentley continues, "I didn’t want to write about it in such a way that it would be alienating for listeners, I wanted to talk about it metaphorically and sing as if I’m singing it to a person that’s standing right in front of me, facing the addiction head on."
To celebrate the release, Rumours will return to the stage next month for a hometown single launch show at Melbourne's Cherry Bar. Supported by The City, Mobs and Bitch Eyes, tickets are on sale now!
