Red Bull are treating Melbourne, with a new weekend-long mega-event set to take over Kensington’s Hoi Polloi.
From Friday March 25 to Sunday, March 27, Tornado Wallace, Nina Las Vegas, Cassettes For Kids, RVG, Elsy Wameyo, Akosia, Floodlights and more will be taking over, with local nightspots like Laundry Bar, Yah Yah’s, Electric Bar, Pawn & Co and Glamorama set to host Hip Hop & Rap pop up club with Pawn & Co, 29th Apartment and Storyville housing an indoor boat party. A mini Palais Theatre will host all the antics of Chasers Nightclub, with POOF DOOF, Yah Yah’s and more getting involved.
I OH YOU are set to provide Friday nights live music entertainment, with a DJ set from Amyl & The Sniffers, performances from CLAMM, Floodlights, Romero and RVG. I OH YOU’s Johann Ponniah says on the event, “We’re stoked to have the opportunity to bring so many of our favourite Victorian artists to Melbourne Unlocked, should be a ripper!”
On Saturday, Akosia, Elsy Wameyo, DJ Kalyani and Tornado Wallace will bring the vibes thanks to WAT Artists. “WAT Artists is excited to be a collaborator alongside other Melbourne nightlife staples, the timing couldn’t be better for Unlocked as the city opens back up again!” Director of WAT Artists, James Ware shares. Untitled Group will see out the event on the Sunday night, with sets from Cassettes For Kids, Foura, Nina Las Vegas and Sam Alfred.
