Naarm/Melbourne-based outfit Psychic Social Club have delivered a slice of indie-rock goodness with their new single, We Don't Talk. The cathartic offering serves as the first taste of new music from the four-piece in 2023.
The mid-tempo cut finds the band recalling on past relationships and contemplating what could have been had life remained the same. Frontman Jared Roscioli's impassioned performance brings reflective and contemplative lyricism to life, fuelled by propulsive drums and a nostalgia-tinged soundscape that harks back to 2000's rock and punk.
"’We Don't Talk’ is a reflection on past relationships that faded when I moved interstate as a 17-year-old. It seems like a lifetime ago, but I still reminisce on those lost connections and consider how things might be different in an alternative life if I stayed where I was or just tried harder to hold on to them." Roscioli shares.
