Melbourne four-piece Four In The Morning are gearing up for the release of their achingly beautiful new track, Keep It Together. If you can’t wait to give the track a spin, listen to the song right here on MILKY before its release!
Throughout the track, the band conceptually navigate an unhinged world, inspired by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, whilst also also exploring keeping up a facade to save face. Produced, recorded, and mixed by Jono Steer (Angie McMahon, Ainslie Wills, Leif Vollebekk, Julia Wallace), frontman Kevin Dolan's vulnerable and warm vocals captivate listeners atop a simplistic piano riff and drum loop, with the four-piece channelling iconic Scottish-Northern Irish rockers Snow Patrol on the emotional release.
Speaking of the track, frontman Kevin Dolan shares: “Early last year — as wages were cut, gigs finished, flights cancelled, and people died on the radio — my problem was a broken record player. I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to make it sing me something. Eventually I realised that fixing a record player wasn’t going to fix the world, and this song kind of stemmed from that. It’s about putting on a good face for ones you love and how that never really works.”
