Perth/Boorloo-based arist, Oshua has dropped his new single, Rare Blues. The track serves as the first taste of the musicians sophomore EP, Float Music, set to arrive this year.
Opening with scintillating piano melodies, a hip-hop infused soundscape soon takes over. Driven by steady drum loops and atmospheric production, Oshua's engaging performance simmers above delivering an effortless flow. Laced with introspective and reflective lyricism, the track explores, “A temporary separation, on a trip with the desire to brought back to your loved ones”.
His debut EP Everything Can Levitate saw the artist team up with a number of producers found through online partnerships created on Discord. Throughout his short career, he has been co-signed by Young Thug and Denzel Curry, won the the prestigious Triple J x NIDA music video competition for Veins, and amassed millions of streams across his catalogue.
"I started learning music online as a way to pass time during COVID quarantine." Oshua shares. "I learnt everything through Discord from people all around the world... we’d stay up all night and day and we all had pretty much just started making music. That same discord server is where I found my sound as an artist and it's still going today with the same people."
