Suffolk-based artist Oscar Welsh has released his new single Avery. Following up his debut EP Vernal, the dreamy track new perfectly exhibits the mesmerising power of Welsh’s velvety vocals whilst also showcasing his ability as a songwriter with charming lyrics throughout the track. The songs accompanying visual features the singers adorable puppy, Avery.
Speaking of the release, Welsh shared: “This song is about a girl called Avery. Avery is that individual who giggles when she’s not meant to. She has no appreciation of sincerity and manners, and that’s exactly what I like about her. The song was written and produced in my room, with my new dalmatian puppy sitting at my feet trying to chew my ankles, that’s why I decided to call my dog ‘Avery’ too.”
Having found a multitude of free time during the COVID-19 pandemic, Welsh began honing in on his craft and forging connections. In an attempt to broaden his musical range, the musician began learning classical pieces on the piano. He began to write songs for fans on TikTok, which catapulted him to recognition, gaining 30,000 followers within a fortnight.
