Melbourne-based artist Nikki Wishart has dropped her angsty new single, Spell It Out To U.
Co-written with Noah Vernon and produced by SB90, the singers latest offering delivers fury-fuelled lyricism, driven by the hurt and rage that burns within when you continually do your best for others and are only met with their narcissistic attitude. Relatable and fiery lyricism is brought to life by Wishart's luring vocals, flowing atop nostalgic guitar melodies and an engaging indie-pop soundscape that channels the likes of Amy Shark and GAYLE.
"Spell It Out To U was always meant to be an ode to all the narcissists in my life; somehow, I attract them. So we set out to load the track with sass that I hadn't showcased in my other 2022 releases. With inspirations coming from artists like DYLAN and GAYLE, I think we channelled that 'I don't really care any more' energy. I can't wait for everyone to hear it!"
Influenced by the emerging pop forces Holly Humberstone and Chelsea Cutler, Wishart made her debut with Mirror Mirror, quickly followed up Control. With two years between releases, the singer returned earlier this year with Compromised, followed up by a string of singles leading to her latest release.
