At Australian Fashion Week, Nagnata delivered more than a runway show, it presented a fully realised philosophy. Movement 21, titled Future = Fibre, translated the brand’s deep-rooted commitment to conscious design into a sensory experience that felt grounded, immersive and emotionally charged from beginning to end.
Staged inside a stripped-back warehouse layered with raw wool bales and resonant soundscapes, the presentation blurred the lines between fashion, performance and ritual. An opening performance by dancers from NON set the tone, their fluid, meditative movements echoing the label’s ongoing dialogue between body awareness, nature and self-expression. Every element of the show reinforced Nagnata’s belief in intentional living and the importance of what we choose to wear against our skin.
The collection itself marked a refined progression for the brand. Relaxed tailoring softened through knitwear, tactile layering pieces and vegetable-dyed denim brought a more elevated edge to Nagnata’s signature uniform, while still remaining deeply connected to ideas of sustainability and material integrity. Mauve and moss green emerged as standout tones throughout the runway, grounding the collection in earthy sophistication and subtly reinforcing its connection to the natural world.
What made the show resonate was how seamlessly the brand’s values were woven into every detail. From the fibres and fabrication to the movement, music and setting, Nagnata created a presentation that felt considered rather than performative; a rare example of fashion where the message and the clothing spoke the same language.
