American musician MOD SUN has teamed up with our queen of punk, the one and only Avril Lavigne on his new track, Flames. The hugely anticipated collaboration comes after the pair hinted at new music with a photo in the recording studio with Machine Gun Kelly.
Conceptually, the track navigates a love that still burns with lavignes distinctive vocals shimmering as she sings “I still burn for you” before MOD SUN’s raucous verses that document the complexities of a relationship that finds itself in toxic waters.
Flames is set to feature on MOD SUN’s upcoming fourth studio album, alongside recent singles Bones and Karma. Lavigne made her return to music in 2019 with her sixth studio album, Head Above Water. The record came after a six year hiatus, mostly due to the musicians diagnosis with Lyme disease in 2014.
Flames is out now! Listen to the track above.
