Following on from the release of her collaboration with Birdz, singer-songwriter Miss Higgins has shared her new single, Edge Of Something, co-produced by Brendon Love of the Teskey Brothers. Alongside the release comes the announcement of a string of live performances over the summer season,
The song was written for the second season of ABCTV’s triple AACTA Award winning drama Total Control, following on from the singer composing short pieces for the first season, alongside several of her hits. Building upon the short composition, Higgins spent her time in lockdown expanding upon selected works, with Edge of Something serving as one of the results, with the singer teasing more to come.
“I’m really proud to have my music featured in this particular show”, Higgins explains. “It’s a compelling drama about the challenges women face in public life so I think it’s ‘must see TV' after all the revelations coming out of Canberra this year.”
Returning to the stage this December for a co-headline show in Sandstone Point with Paul Kelly, the singer is also set to appear at the Lighthouse Festival in Norah, Summersalt Festival in Hobart and Colangatta, and Bluesfest Byron Bay early next year.
In the midst of these performance, Higgins will headline Empire Touring and TEG LIVE's brand new girl power festival, Wildflower. Taking place next March, the line up is rounded out with the musical stylings of Kasey Chambers, Kate Miller-Heidke, Sarah Blasko, ThornBird (Vikki Thorn of The Waifs), Deborah Conway and Alice Skye. Making March the month of the Wildflower, the festival will visit Yarra Valley's Rochford Wines on March 12, before continuing on to Brisbane's Riverstage and the Hunter Valley's Roche Estate, where the festival will wrap up on April 2. Tickets went on sale this morning!
