Lord Huron have announced they will be releasing their fourth album Long Lost on May 21. This comes off the heels of their latest single Mine Forever released today.
With threads of indie and folk, the alt-country band bring their defining flavour to their new single, Mine Forever. There’s a somewhat nostalgic quality to the track, reminiscent of something you would find on the Twilight soundtrack. With the base and drum offering a new element to the song, that of a prom-like breakdown. An interesting contrast within the track. Providing us with a positive promise as to what we can expect from the forthcoming album.
Lord Huron discuss the concept of their upcoming album, “We’ve often tried to uncover the past of our studio, without much success. Instead we’ve had to imagine what’s gone on there, who’s passed through. That’s where this idea started.” Long Lost looks at the history of Whispering Pines Studio and the bands performance series Alive From Whispering Pines. In this series viewers were introduced to Mr. Tubbs Tarbell along with commercials from lost tapes and performances by Lord Huron including Meet Me In The Woods and gave a sneak at some of their new tracks. Mine Forever is out now! Listen to the song below.
