Global superstar Miley Cyrus keeps hitting new heights with her latest single, Flowers. The track has broken the record for the most chart streams in a single week in Australia, with over 5 million streams since its release last month.
Upon its release, Flowers debuted at #1 on the ARIA Single Charts marking the singers first #1 single ever in Australia. The track serves as the lead single from the singers hotly-anticipated eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, which is set to arrive next month.
The groove-laden track brings together sonic threads of 70's pop, funk and rock to create a nostalgia-fuelled subdued disco soundscape that is sure to have you dancing all night long. With sonic nods to Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive and a lyrical connection to When I Was Your Man from Bruno Mars, the track is also reminiscent of pop icon Kylie Minogue's hit singles of the 90's and early 2000's, with its ear-worm melodies and structure.
On Flowers, Cyrus recalls on a former flame and the apprehension of walking away before finding solace in self-love. The songs official visual follows the singer as she walks through the streets of Los Angeles, before arriving home for a day of self-care and carefree dancing.
Tapping producers Kid Harpoon, Greg Kurstin, Mike WiLL Made-It and Tyler Johnson, Endless Summer Vacation vows to continue to showcase Cyrus' multi-faceted artistry, reflecting on the search for her own inner-strength with the singer describing the album as a love letter to LA.
In 2020, Cyrus revealed a new side of her artistry to fans and watchers worldwide, unleashing her rock-based seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts. The critically acclaimed body of work debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and became Cyrus' sixth #1 album, earning the artist the most top 10 album debuts on the chart for female artists this century. Last year, the singer treated fans to a live album, ATTENTION: Miley Live. Recorded in February when the singer took to the stage at Superbowl Music Fest, the album features a bevy of hits and fan favourites from Cyrus' illustrious catalogue as well as some of the singers most iconic covers.
