Singer-songwriter Marloe. has offered up her first taste of new music for the year with what a day. The track serves as a taste of the singers forthcoming sophomore EP, the pieces in between, due out next month.
Written alongside Brisbane producer Harry Fox, the bouncy release is an empowering cut that is all about finding that self-love and a sense of freedom. The singers polished vocals simmer above a funky bass line and 80's inspired sonics, building to a euphoric chorus.
“I actually got engaged the night before I wrote this song! Although it isn’t about love or another person, it is about the relationship you have with yourself and how it feels to be free.” Marloe. shares of the track, adding, “I hope it makes anyone who listens reflect about themselves and the areas they might be letting other people, jobs, society etc hold them back from being exactly who they’re supposed to be.”
To celebrate the release of the EP, Marloe. will return to the stage for an exclusive launch show at Brisbane's iconic venue, Bearded Lady. Taking place on February, the performance will mark the live debut of songs from the EP.
