Watch our full interview with Maisie Peters!
British singer-songwriter, Maisie Peters has treated us all to her new single, Blonde. The track serves as the first of two releases from the singer this month, with Good Enough set to follow on August 19.
On her latest offering, Peters plays into the troupe of changing your hair following a breakup, finding a new sense of empowerment with a vengeful promise to her former lover. “Blonde is a song about confidence, self-worth and standing behind yourself, and although dying your hair isn’t necessarily the grandest thing anyone has ever done, it represents turning a new leaf in how you see yourself, for the better. Plus, it’s true, blondes do have more fun.” the singer shares.
Featuring the singles John Hughes Movie, Psycho, You Signed Up for This and Brooklyn, Peters' 2021 debut album You Signed Up For This proved Peters' skills as a songwriter first and foremost, as she navigates the transitional period from adolescence to adulthood. On the record, Peters navigates love, heartbreak and betrayal, whilst also recalling upon childhood memories across the collection of songs.
Peters is currently touring alongside Ed Sheeran on his mammoth + - = ÷ x stadium tour. The singer was signed by Sheeran, who added Peter to Gingerbread Man Records roster.
