Eora/Sydney-based post-punk outfit, Mac the Knife have delivered their new single, Less Than Familiar. The release arrives alongside the announcement of the bands sophomore EP, In The Shadow Of It All, set to arrive next month.
Driven by blistering guitar work and riotous percussion, Less Than Familiar delves deeper into the bands established union of post-punk and rock to create a dynamic offering. Frontman Bryn Chapman Parish's menacing vocals loom above, luring you in and captivating your attention with compelling lyricism. The track explores the ever-changing flow of life, and how dynamics and relationships change throughout your twenties. The release is accompanied by an official visual, shot and directed Roger Stonehouse.
"Things change in your early twenties," says Chapman Parish. "Groups divide, couples break up, doors fling open and slam shut, friends you thought would be there for life move on. This period is one of extreme highs and crushing lows. You return home to a town you love, and everything feels just the same... except it's not."
To celebrate the release of their sophomore EP, In The Shadow Of It All, the band will embark on an east coast tour. Kicking off in Wollongong/Dharawal on April 4, the run of shows will continue on to Sydney/Gadigal Land and Melbourne/Naarm, before wrapping up in Newcastle/Awabakal Land on April 24. Tickets are on sale now!
