Indie-pop act, lucidbloom have unveiled their new single, Signals in the Skies. The track serves as the latest taste of the bands forthcoming debut EP, Calamity, set to arrive next month.

Built atop a bubbling bassline and driving percussion, Signals in the Skies brooding soundscape is a result of the bands own hand at self-producing. The tracks' darker palette pushes up against lucidbloom's established sound and ushers in a new era leading towards Calamity. Thematically, the song traces distorted realities and their lingering impact. "The song explores the feeling of rising tensions, from within a lucid dream state, where reality feels distorted, and every decision carries urgency," lyricist Katrina Noorbergen shares.

Having formed through exisiting friendships, lucidbloom released their debut single, Among The Pines, last year, followed up by Post Everything and Silos. Their compositions draw on influences ranging from dark-pop and electronic, to 90s shoegaze and post-rock. To celebrate the release of Calamity, the band will host an EP launch performance at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory on May 30. Supported by Adorer and The Postcards, tickets are on sale now.
