King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have shared the latest visual from their recently released, critically-acclaimed Butterfly 3000. This time, Catching Smoke is getting the music video treatment, directed by Danny Cohen, co-produed by Cohen and Tessa Mansfield-Hung.
“Here's a clip that might feel like the past, or the future, maybe both, the present?,”Cohen says. “It's set wherever you want it to be, whenever too, in a time that's everyone's. It's a story of a fleeting fleet, straying the course to inhabit their inner instinctual insect, I think. Or maybe it's precisely what it is, Sgt. Pepper's Bug's Life Matrix Band but more fun."
“Catching Smoke is about chasing the feeling that’s impossible to catch”, adds guitarist and primary songwriter Stu Mackenzie. "You’ll never get your hands on it, but you’re gonna try anyway…”
To coincide with their new record, the six-piece have been sharing a new music video every week, with every song on the record receiving its own visual.
