JUSTUS BENNETS AND GAYLE TEAM UP ON 'DON'T TRIP'

Watch our interview with Justus Bennetts

Raleigh-based, Seattle-born singer-songwriter Justus Bennetts has joined forces with rising pop singer-songwriter GAYLE for their new carefree anthem, Don't Trip.

Laced with honest lyricisms and observations of his peers’ questionable behaviour, Bennetts electric performance brings a feel-good vibe to the track, as he stays true to himself and leaves behind feelings of loneliness to live life to the fullest on his own terms. GAYLE's captivating vocals float in, echoing Bennetts' sentiments as the two artists stomp above alt-pop sonics.

The release is accompanied by an offical visual, where meet the pair in a quintessential 1950s American diner, filmed at Cindy’s Eagle Rock in Los Angeles. Working the day shift and riling up customers with their carefree attitude, the duo indulge on a patron’s meal and have a dance party in the kitchen, leaving behind all their worries.

The song arrives shortly after the announcement that Bennetts will be joining GAYLE on her North American tour. Kicking off in Nashville on March 9, their run of shows together will continue on to Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and West Palm Beach, before wrapping up in Napa Valley on May 27. Swapping his career as a car salesman, Bennetts converted his laundry room into a home studio, before heading to New York. His singles Nightstand and Real Life Sux became TikTok hits, with his single Insomniac hitting the radio waves across the US. GAYLE rose to fame last year with the release of her hit single abcdefu, which has hit over 925M streams to date and reached #6 on Billboard’s Hot 100. The track continues to chart across Australia, currently sitting at #2 on the iTunes charts and #4 on the ARIA Top 50 Singles chart, where it previously peaked at #2.
