ARIA-Award winning, R&B-pop artist, proud Kuku Yalanji and Wakaman woman and overall local legend, Jessica Mauboy has made her grand return with Glow. The release marks the singers first release under her new label home, Warner Music Australia.
Written alongside George Maple and electronic duo Cosmos Midnight, Glow introduces us to a whole other side of the singer, channeling the nostalgia of the 80's and the power of influential performers such as Donna Summer, Diana Ross and Cher. Mauboy's vocals soar above driving production, reaching new heights as she sings of personal growth and basking in the warmth of a new era. The singer has also shared an official visual for the track, directed by Ribal Hosn.
"I got tired of being a 'yes person'. Mentally, it was self-destructive: my body and my mind were saying, Hey, you gotta really take care of yourself. Glow stems from realising it's okay to stop, zoom out and start over fresh.“ Mauboy shares. "I really wanted to capture that sense of knowing myself. Glow is my confidence song; It's my reminder that I'm where I need to be, that I'm just being. And that's okay."
Having appeared as a judge on The Voice Australia earlier this year, Glow is just the beginning of new music from the singer. Whilst there's no news on when to expect the singers next full-length release, Mauboy will be hitting the road on The Boss Lady Tour, with special guest Caiti Baker. Kicking off in Canberra on March 30, the run of shows will continue on to Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne, before wrapping up on the Gold Coast on April 16.
